oh man, that sucks! I would feed very sparingly until she molts again. I hope she makes it for you.

Ah bugger. I think i have only ever seen one or two spiders with this type of blister on the abdomen that have actually survived. A few of mine have had them and they all ended up in alcohol or the freezer. The only thing that i can think of that may help is dabbing some athletes foot powder on the blister. I've done this with a perezmilesi female i have and she has gone on to produce a sac (and eat it the cow) but hasn't moulted yet which will be the big test.

Wow, looks like some sort of infection. That is gruesome. try the foot powder. Sounds like a good idea. I wish you luck.

What would the foot powder do? I have never heard of that before.

I spoke to a friend about these type of blisters ages ago and he thought they may be bacterial or fungal infections of some kind. Seeing as athletes foot powder is a treatment for fungal infections i thought i'd give it a go as even if it did nothing for the infection the powder would at least help to keep the area dry and form a sort of scab.

Ick, hope it goes away and your little one survives. Good luck with the powder.

antibacterial foot or fungus powder is a great thing to use, another thing to use would be a good liquid bandage....after taliking with him today I will say his spider has recovered somewhat and is eating...I would suggest not feeding it so much so you don't create a lot of pressure in the abdomen. and then just sustain feed her till she sheds.

It's a joke John...really
